Masao Ishihara has been active with the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method since 2008, where he co-founded Rasmussen Consulting, Japan with his partner, Takashi Hasunuma. Since then Masao has delivered LEGO SERIOUS PLAY workshops to institutions in a variety of industries in Japan including manufacturing, finance, services and universities.
Masao worked with LEGO Education in Japan from 1997 to 2012. He has a strong passion for helping children and adults, to discover new ideas of anything including about themselves. He is a firm believer of constructionism. In an attempt to apply constructionism to youth education, Masao has also worked with promoting STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) education in schools in Asia and USA. Today Masao almost exclusively works with LEGO SERIOUS PLAY in Japan together with Takasi Hasunuma.
Masao was born in Aichi prefecture, Japan. He speaks Japanese and English. He has a Master’s degree from Boston University, Boston, USA and a visiting professor at universities including Silliman University, Dumaguete, Philippines. He lives in Tokyo, Japan and Cebu, Philippines.
