The meeting covered the use of LSP as a tool to bridge uncertainties in education. Presenters discussed fears around remote teaching, struggles with technology and anxiety, the need for change in higher education, and key findings from a study on creative confidence through serious play.
Heidi introduced the metaphor of standing at the beginning of a bridge and looking into the foggy future of education, with LSP as a tool to help bridge uncertainties. Than the four presenters Introduce their topics related to using LSP in education post-COVID. There was a lot of fear in the beginning of remote teaching, including fears around viruses, teacher shortages, and social emotional needs.
Donna shares their experience with helping teachers transition to remote and hybrid teaching, including struggles with technology and anxiety/worry among teachers and students. Jillian discusses the need for change in higher education and the spotlight Covid put on teaching preparedness. They suggest promoting new ways of encouraging classroom learning and faculty engagement, including incorporating culture of play. Wendy shares key findings from their qualitative study on the development of creative confidence through engagement with serious play, including the emergence of psychological safety and empathy in teams.
