LSP Etiquette & Ecosystem – CC4ALL
December 11, 2020
Theoretical Foundations
Robert Rasmussen and Per Kristiansen
The last Coffee Chat of the year discussed the LSP ecosystem, authenticity, and LEGO SERIOUS PLAY. The Etiquette document was updated to guide new facilitators. The Coffee Chat team announced their 2021 calendar and thanked participants for their support. Fabrizio Faraco discusses the various events and initiatives that took place throughout the year, including Brick for Change and Facilitator training, and Speaker 3 talks about the growth of the LSP ecosystem and the importance of imagination in the field. Robert Rasmussen then discusses navigating within the LSP ecosystem. The concept of authentic LSP is discussed, with the importance of respecting the integrity of the method for maximum value. LEGO SERIOUS PLAY is described as more than just a technique, but also a set of values and beliefs about people's potential and desire to understand the world around them. Robert discusses the trap of consultants/trainers thinking they have the solution and trying to convey it through Lego Serious Play, rather than unlocking knowledge from within the system. This can threaten the authenticity and integrity of the method. The question of what facilitators need to master to deliver authentic LSP is posed. The Lego ecosystem consists of the systematic use of four steps, seven application techniques, group dynamic principles, and the heart fund. The ecosystem also includes the science, craft and skills, and art parts, which are connected by rubber bands that represent interdependence and flexibility.
